Batzer Inc. is a family-owned and operated commercial general contractor in business since 1955. It was founded by Jack Batzer who worked with the company until he passed in 2005 at age 90. Currently, Batzer president is Jack's fifth son, Russ Batzer is responsible for the management of 100 employees and a 28 million dollar company.
Batzer was largely involved in commercial and industrial projects that focused on the timber industry during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1986, Batzer began expanding its project delivery systems with the addition of Design-Build services along with its traditional Design-Bid-Build and Construction Management-General Contractor services.
In 2001, the company defined their corporate ideology and new Mission and Vision statements were established.
In 2003, Russ Batzer was named Contractor of the Year by Oregon Building Congress for his innovative techniques, support of youth programs and successful efforts in promoting construction as a career.
Batzer's commitment to community is evident in the firm's support of local and regional efforts. Support goes to Rogue Valley YMCA, Kids Unlimited, Access, Medford Rogue Rotary, Medford Rotary, Oregon Building Congress (a non-profit organization that focuses on construction as a career path for high school and college students), Medford Youth Baseball at Harry & David Field.
Construction and Management Approach
Batzer Inc. is a vibrant progressive 52 year old firm that works in Oregon, Washington and California. Batzer has built award winning commercial, industrial, retail, and medical facilities and specializes in complex renovations.
Batzer's ability to fast track projects is just one area that exceeds the expectations of it's clients. Innovation, experience and a good old fashioned work ethic make this possible. However, the main reason that Batzer has proven over time to meet client challenges, is they have the ability to self perform all aspects of Design, Architecture, Planning, Engineering, Demolition, Site Work, Underground Utilities, Concrete, Steel Fabrication, Structural Steel, Building Erection, Equipment Placement, Carpentry, and Project Management. This is complimented with the finest subcontractors in Southern Oregon.
This ability to prioritize resources is a huge advantage in delivering a project within a defined time period without sacrificing quality.
Over the past four years over 200 projects have been completed with the same in-house design and construction team: Medford DMV, Mock Ford Grants Pass, Grange Co-op Grants Pass, Medford Youth - Harry and David Baseball Fields, the Historic Weasku Inn, and Illinois Valley Fire District Fire Stations and administrative building.
Batzer's Commitment to Safety
Training programs include: First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Steel Erection Fall Protection, Competent Person Training for Excavation, and Forklift Certification. In 2006 we instituted a random drug screening program.
The Batzer Safety Director, John Jack, is included in pre-job planning meetings and visits work sites weekly. Job sites are audited quarterly by a staff driven Safety Committee. Batzer's safety incentive program has resulted in a greater awareness of safe work habits and practices.
